The costs were very high compared what the Linux versions were as on linux side all software were free, but you paid only for the support. When Microsoft example had the "Windows 7 Starter", it was "Free" but it required very expensive hardware that Microsoft approved and their very expensive server side software. Microsoft doesn't give anything away for free! Never had, never will. I'm also wondering how long a small company like Affinity can survive, or will they eventually get absorbed by Adobe (like Macromedia in the past).

I still have few clients for whose projects I need Illustrator and InDesign, but I have stopped using the rest of the package (Premiere slow on Mac, so I use FCP etc.) and I am researching the alternatives like Affinity products for design, but I also run several websites designed in Muse (now discontinued), plus using the Typekit fonts that come with full CC in various projects, and some other goodies that come with CC.
